Answer 50-100 telephone inquiries daily using an ACD regarding the Maryland Medicaid program benefits. Communicate with personnel of Local Departmental of Social Services, health Department offices, and other Divisions and Administrations within MDH, as well as recipients and authorized individuals to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate program eligibility information is given out.
Research for possible eligibility by using a variety of database systems (State and Federal) and applicant submitted documentation. Use independent judgment while determining, interpreting, and applying the appropriate policies for correct eligibility, or forward the call to the appropriate case worker. The employee will utilize the following computer date systems: Maryland Medicaid Information Systems (MMIS), Client Automated Resource Eligibility System (CARES) and its subsystems, Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (HBX), Interim Database (IDB) Maryland Think Eligibility and Enrollment (E & E) and Healthy Maryland (FP) and internal databases.
Serve as a liaison with other agencies in a professional manner, and effectively obtain or provide required information in order to resolve issues or problems timely.
Demonstrate polite and courteous behavior to callers at all times, as well as follow any script in place for usage.
Maintain the goal of keeping call lengths to a maximum of five minutes unless the call is a complaint that needs to be forwarded to a lead or supervisor.
Hourly/weekly pay is $13.96
Regular business hours (8am to 4:30pm or 8:30pm to 5pm
