works closely with case management and housing staff to build rapport and effectively support clients experiencing and/ or recovering from homelessness. The peer support specialist is a critical and unique position that furthers the goals of homeless services and clients who maybe in recovery from multiple challenges( homelessness, substance use, mental illness, financial instability.
Have lived experience of homelessness, substance use or mental illness and be well- grounded in ones own recovery
Has completed the Peer Recovery Support training or will within 6 months of hire
High school diploma or equivalency
Valid drivers license and access to a working vehicle is required
Intermediate computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft office 365, date entry and use of electronic medical records
